Pledges:

  • Conduct a survey for faculty, staff, and students affiliated with CISSM (using a standard survey such as the one developed by LeanIn.org and Survey Monkey) to monitor levels of awareness and perceptions in relation to gender equality and DEIA efforts at CISSM. Report the results to staff.
  • Ensure that at least 50% of speakers at CISSM-sponsored public events are women and others with perspectives that are underrepresented in U.S. security policy discussions.
  • Meet with CISSM-associated faculty each academic year to identify ways to incorporate more women’s perspectives and gender-related dimensions of policy in courses and research to broaden learning objectives and improve policy outcomes.
